Gastroscopy

During a gastroscopy a flexible tube is inserted into the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. It is also possible to realize analyses of the mucosal lining (biopsies). The lab then analyses the results.

Before gastroscopy a local anaesthetic spray of the throat is generally applied. The examination is not painful but it could be nice to ask for sedation. This can safely be realized on an outpatient basis in our facilities. Please click here for your preparation prior to gastroscopy.
